The first 100% electric interprovincial E-Bus, called KING11 EV, arrived in Panama, a unit that will mark a sustainable future for the country. The presentation of the first 100% Electric Interprovincial Bus took place on Wednesday, November 22 in the vicinity of the Town Center Shopping Center in Costa del Este and the event was attended by various local media and authorities linked to the country's energy segment.
The bus, manufactured by King Long, is 11 meters long and 2.5 meters high. It can carry up to 45 passengers and is equipped with a number of amenities, such as a refrigerator, Marco Polo seats, wide aisle, long aisle night lights and hydraulic trunks.
The bus also features a high-power synchronous traction motor, a maximum output torque of 3,500 Nm and a range of 1kWh per kilometer. In addition, it has a load regeneration system through braking on slopes.
The arrival of this electric bus represents an important advance in the fight against air pollution. Conventional buses emit greenhouse gases, nitrogen oxides and polluting particles, which contribute to air pollution and climate change. Electric buses, on the other hand, do not emit any of these substances, making them a cleaner option.
In addition to environmental benefits, electric buses also offer a number of economic advantages. Electric buses are more energy efficient than conventional buses, reducing operating costs. Electric buses also have a lower maintenance cost than conventional buses, which can generate additional savings for transport operators.
The introduction of Panama's first 100% electric intercity bus is an important step to move towards a more sustainable future. This bus represents a viable alternative to conventional buses, as it offers a series of environmental and economic benefits.
The introduction of more electric buses in Panama will help reduce polluting emissions, improve air quality and reduce operating costs for transportation operators.
