Global commercial vehicle major Daimler is looking to replicate the success of its trucks business in India in the bus segment as well, with its new bus plant in the country slated to be operational by second half of next year. "In the second half of next year, we will launch buses under the Mercedes Benz and Bharat Benz brands. Indian bus market is huge. (Bus operations) will be fully comparable to what we have achieved in trucks in India," Daimler India Commercial Vehicles (DICV) Managing Director and CEO Erich Nesselhauf told PTI.
The 5th Busworld Turkey hosted professionals of the bus and coach industry for four days from 24th to 27th of April in Istanbul (CNR) Expo Center. There were 248 exhibitors present, of which 172 were local and 76 were international exhibitors, coming form Germany, Italy, UK, China, Canada, South Korea, Sweden, Switzerland, Spain, Austria, Mexico, Slovakia, Iran, Russia, Ireland, Poland, Romania, Belgium, Luxemburg, Uzbekistan, Morocco, Bulgaria, France and The Netherlands. The show was also visited by professional visitors of many different countries, making it a truly international exhibition. Preparations of Busworld Turkey 2016 have already started. Due to the current political crisis and its economic consequences, Busworld International has no other possibility but to postpone its Busworld Eastern Europe 2014 exhibition, until the situation in Ukraine will have stabilised.
Busworld India took place from 1-3 February 2013 at the Bombay Convention & Exhibition Centre, Mumbai. Manufacturers present at the show included Scania, ACGL, Corona and Deccan Auto, and alongside the event there was a three-day programme of events on technical and safety issues.
