EMISSIONS OF TOXIC NOX BY EURO 6 DIESEL CARS MORE THAN DOUBLE OF MODERN DIESEL TRUCKS’ In Europe, the average amount of nitrogen oxides (NOx) present in exhaust emissions from modern diesel passenger cars is more than double the levels from modern trucks and buses, a new paper by the independent research organization International Council on Clean Transportation (ICCT) shows. The difference is attributable in large part to differences in how light-duty and heavy-duty vehicle emissions are regulated, and the contrasting performance highlights the importance of an upcoming decision on strengthening the real-driving emissions (RDE) test for passenger cars in the EU.

DUTCH CONNEXXION EBUS ORDER FOR BYD

The ebuses will enter service in Haarlem city from September 2017. Each bus is expected to cover 85-90,000km a year, with huge savings of emissions of harmful exhaust gases when compared with diesel-powered vehicles (BYD ebuses emit no pollution at all). As well as being emission free the BYD ebuses are much cheaper to operate too thanks to the lower cost of electrical energy. The agreement signed today calls for the in-service support of the buses by BYD for a 10-year period.

ING CORPORATE INVESTMENTS GETS SHARE IN DUTCH FULL ELECTRIC BUS PIONEER EBUSCO International law firm Simmons & Simmons advised ING Corporate Investments, the co-investment branch of ING Bank, on their investment in Ebusco B.V., a Dutch company which develops, markets and sells full electric (public transport) buses in the European market. The transaction was structured as a share issuance that resulted in a minority stake in Ebusco for ING CI. The Dutch Government of Economic Affaires supplies financial support to Ebusco.
